Hero Hustle Triathlon & Duathlon

August 27, 2023, Manchester, IA
Join us for this years 8th Annual Hero Hustle Sprint Triathlon & Duathlon at Schram Park. The Hero Hustle welcomes all athletes of all abilities. The goal is to have a good time and raise money for a good cause.

About

The 8th Annual Hero Hustle

The race is a sprint distance triathlon comprised of a 400yd swim, a 16 mile bike ride, and a 5K run to wrap it up. The swim course will be held in Schram Pond. The bike course is out on a public highway and has rolling hills for most of the course. The run course will be mostly flat, with athletes only having to tackle one hill…at least you get to turn around and run back down it though! The duathlon replaces the swim with a one mile run around Schram Pond followed by the same 16 mile bike ride and 5K.

About Us

Something For Everyone!

The Hero Hustle Sprint Triathlon was created as a way to raise money to help support the men and women of the Delaware County police, fire, and ambulance departments. With budgets getting tighter every year, and equipment getting more expensive it is more important than ever for people to do their best to support their local communities. This is our way of giving back to the people that are always there to save, serve and protect us.

Competitor Review

This was my first year of doing the hero hustle triathlon as an individual, and I would have to say this was the most fun I have ever had doing an event. My favorite part was the volunteers and how kind and helpful they were to all of the athletes it is just amazing to me that a community like Manchester can pull of such an amazing and successful event for a good cause. Our rescue teams are the core of our community and supporting them by this fun event is extremely awesome. The fans were so amazing as well, when you would feel like holy cow I can’t make it there would be a fan cheering you on and then the end was just amazing with all the awesome spread of food and the food trucks for the spectators. It truly was amazing all around, last but not least standing there before the start nerves are high having the air care huge beautiful flag and the star spangled banner was touching great job all around!!

Competitor Review

Excellent organization with the way the course is laid out! Great, friendly and helpful volunteers. Great control of the swim start. Great motivational/inspirational helicopter and National Anthem. Great medals for everyone and great Trophy cups / for winners! And most importantly: AWESOME Food!!!!!!!

Competitor Review

So many things! It is so organized and has so many wonderful volunteers who help you out and cheer you on. I love that there is a duathlon option as I am not a strong swimmer. The course is well thought out. Separating the bike/run transition was a great idea from last year. Overall, I cannot say enough good things about this race.

Competitor Review

Well organized, nice course, friendly and helpful volunteers, and a welcoming vibe. Love the pools for washing sand off your feet before T1 (details like that are appreciated!). Nice post-race food, too!
